Welcome to… Greenbrier Nurseries W e are one of America’s premier plant propagators, growers and retailers. Our growing operations in Talcott, West Virginia provide much of the products for our retail stores, as well as many of the finest garden centers in the eastern United States. Greenbrier Nurseries also provides starter plants for distribution across North America through our LINER ADVANTAGE program.Our retail stores are located in Roanoke, Virginia and Beckley, West Virginia. We were selected to the REVOLUTIONARY 100 by Today's Garden Center Magazine and THE RETAIL 100 by Nursery Retailer Magazine in 2007. Greenbrier Nurseries offers a wide breadth of plants, unique gifts and tasteful garden accoutrements. Come to be inspired by the outdoor living ideas you will find and meet our fine staff. New for Spring 2008 is Hort Couture™. This started as a simple idea to present great plant genetics in the U.S. and combine them with unique packaging to create a new "couture" quality plant brand. Our History…
G reenbrier Nurseries was started in 1956 as a landscape business by Jim and Alice Monroe. Their work ethic and high moral character are still hallmarks of our business. The container nursery was started in the fall of 1986 specializing in dwarf and unusual conifers and Japanese maples. Ten years later the property was purchased for the expansion of the container nursery onto the Lowell Farm as well as the property for the Roanoke, Virginia garden center. Another garden store was added in Beckley, West Virginia in 2001. In 2005, the company added Greenbrier Seed Company to its family and the brand Hort Couture™ Plants was developed in June of 2007. We have been blessed with great people, a true passion for horticulture and wonderful business relationships that have made it all possible. |
